創業10周年記念！生の声シリーズ海外編！ということで、今日はこちらのお２人です。

スタンフォード大学発祥の米国NPO法人 VIA。アジアとアメリカの学生を繋いで、Social Entreprenerurを育成し、互いに現地での持続的な活動を支え合うコミュニティを作り、社会課題解決も促進する。そんな素晴らしい組織を率いるKazutoh氏と各種プログラムの現場を統括するMelissa氏。

当時は私自身も教育系NPOで理事をさせて頂いていた時期で、参加するメンター陣もソーシャルアントレプレナーが多く、中国、台湾、アメリカなどスタッフも多国籍軍w。プログラム内容も非常に濃く、参加した私自身が一番勉強させてもらっているのではないか？と毎回思うくらいの素晴らしいプログラムばかり。一番最近では、2019年に神戸市のシリコンバレー派遣プログラムで声をかけて頂き、渡米してお手伝いをさせていただきつつ、そこから日本でのアライアンスに繋がっていきました。プログラムの中で一番激変するのが日本の学生。それを見るにつけ、「今の日本の教育の中に圧倒的に足りてない大切なものをVIAプログラムは提供してくれているんだな、あーこれは広まるべき！」と毎回新しく感じます。またおふたりの生の声に「海外ビジネス」で求められる素養と日本ビジネスで求められることの違いも見て取れてとても面白いです。そんな観点でも、よろしかったらご覧ください。

Satomi has a very thoughtful approach to her work as a consultant. She takes the time to ask important, deep questions and truly understand the organization’s goals, both specific to the project as well as the organization’s broader and longer-term vision. In our most recent collaboration, we hoped to better define our value proposition for potential educational and corporate partners in Japan. Satomi’s process helped us reflect on our own purpose and goals. I felt we came away from the project not only with the resources we needed, but a better understanding of ourselves and our potential as well.

I really appreciate Satomi’s open and honest style of communication. It felt like we started with a well-established working relationship and could tackle the deeper, more difficult questions quickly. I’ve worked with other consultants that need more time to build a relationship and are hesitant to ask tough questions and challenge their clients’ assumptions. Satomi’s style feels very efficient and effective.
